ABOUT ROSEMARY
I grew up in an artistic family; my mother and my two younger sisters all chose artistic careers, my daughter continues the tradition, while my son is a musician – artistic in a different way. This artistic tradition stretches way back on my mother's side to Shem Drowne, the sculptor who created the grasshopper atop Faneuil Hall in Boston.
I look back on my own long career as filled with exploration and inspiration, and lots of very hard work that is somehow always worth it in the end. There's a joy in creation, as an artist you experience continual growth; there is always something new to learn, and I get satisfaction from overcoming the many challenges each project presents. There is also joy in passing on what I have learned through teaching others.
