The Lotus represents commitment and optimism for the future, rising from muddy waters. It is a sacred flower and occupies a unique position in art and mythology.
I paint in oil with a technique that I have developed combining subtle rendering with vivid color. My compositions combine what nature created with how my artist's eye sees them.

MOSTLY BIRDS
In this older series of paintings I explored the incredible variety and beauty of birds. Sometimes I put them with human objects that seem to magnify their personalities. Why is there a teapot and a bird? It seemed to me he wanted some tea. One painting includes rabbits, dragons, and lilies... but no birds, sometimes insects want to be painted... Some paintings take on a life of their own.

The inspiration for this series has come from the journey into the unknown without sail or steering just trusting in the right outcome.
